Canadian Dental Care Plan in Edmonton

Canadian Dental Care Plan Near You

At Impression Dental, we believe everyone should have access to quality dental care, regardless of age or financial situation. That’s why we proudly welcome patients who qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

Whether you’re a parent, a senior, or an adult without dental insurance, we’re here to make things simple. We’ll help you understand what’s covered, guide you through the application, and make sure you get the dental care you need—comfortably and affordably.

Who is eligible for the CDCP?

The CDCP is a public program in which eligible Canadians may have access to dental care at an affordable fee. You are eligible if you meet all of the following criteria:

  • You have no private dental insurance, including work, school, or pension plan coverage.
  • You are a tax-resident Canadian.
  • You and your spouse (if applicable) submitted a Canadian income tax return last year.
  • Your adjusted family net income is below $90,000.
  • You are a member of one of the following age or eligibility groups:
  • Seniors aged 65 and over
  • Children under 18
  • Adults aged 18–64 who are approved for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC)
  • Starting May 2025, the plan will be expanded to include additional adults between 18 and 64 who are not DTC-eligible.

If you need explanations regarding the Canadian government dental plan for seniors, we are more than happy to assist you.

How Much Does CDCP Cover?

The amount you pay depends on your adjusted family income:

Income Bracket Coverage Level
Under $70,000 100% covered (minimal co-payment)
$70,000–$79,999 60% covered (40% co-payment)
$80,000–$89,999 40% covered (60% co-payment)

Not all dental services are fully covered. Some treatments may involve additional costs, particularly if:

  • Your dentist bills more than the plan covers
  • The service is not a listed covered benefit under CDCP.
  • Some procedures need pre-authorization.

We will make known to you the entire cost of care before we treat you so that you are aware of what to anticipate.
